Recent examples of newly emerged threats include severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS), the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic (SWINE FLU), and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERS) and the latest was COVID-19. These infections have a risk of death ranging from 10-40% and can cause disease with a variable severity. We know from our COVID-19 outbreak that majority of infected people had nil to very mild symptoms while some suffered life threatening illness.

SMCW & SUHRC organised a 4-day, intensive workshop of lectures and interactive sessions with leading Indian and international specialists. Starting on 6th April 2023, this was an exclusive opportunity for learning, open to only 15 gynaecologists on a first-come-first-serve basis. The event incorporated 40+ surgeries hands-on on live patients as well as unlimited hand-eye coordination on models and simulators. It was also an opportunity to purchase equipment at concessional rates.
